Governor Joe Lombardo and the Bureau of Land Management, Nevada, have signed a Data Sharing Agreement aimed at enhancing the exchange of information regarding federal land available for disposal in the state.
“I’m pleased to announce the State’s joint agreement with the Bureau of Land Management, Nevada today,” said Governor Lombardo. “This agreement will improve our ability to share critical data about public lands in Nevada and help inform future housing and economic development in our communities. I’m grateful to BLM Nevada for their partnership, and I look forward to making progress on this key issue together.”
BLM Nevada acting state director Kim Prill expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “We look forward to working with the State of Nevada to provide accurate data as efficiently as possible to help Nevadans find public land potentially available for disposal.”
The agreement outlines four primary objectives: facilitating the sharing of information on public lands potentially available for disposal, maximizing operational efficiency and cost savings, avoiding duplication of effort in data collection, and improving the accuracy and maintenance of information on disposable lands.
