‘A serious risk’: Nevada Gov. Lombardo asks Trump to remove tariffs on lithium
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo called on President Donald Trump to end tariffs on lithium, describing the policy as “a serious risk” that can upend jobs in Nevada and the country as a whole.
Lombardo, who made the request in a letter sent to the White House on April 14, tried to toe the line between supporting the idea behind tariffs to help bring manufacturing back to the United States while raising concerns about their negative impact on Nevada’s fledgling lithium industry.

Early trouble signs for Nevada budget
A Nevada panel that provides projections for the state’s non-major revenue sources for the next two years approved a less optimistic outlook on Wednesday than estimates it made in November, driven in large part by bearishness regarding Las Vegas tourism.
The meeting of the state’s Technical Advisory Committee on Future State Revenues — composed of economists and legislative fiscal staff — comes one week before Nevada’s Economic Forum meets to project the revenue from major sources such as the sales tax for the next two budget years.

Which bills survived first key vote in the Nevada Legislature?
CARSON CITY — Hundreds of bills made it through the major deadline known as First House Passage on Tuesday, sending the measures to the Nevada Legislature’s second chamber for consideration.
In the Legislative Building, many lobbyists, lawmakers and journalists wore black to jokingly commemorate bills that have died so far. Outside of the press room, people made predictions about when the Legislature would wrap up its work Tuesday night while legislators met in caucuses before the flurry of floor activity started.
